Myofunctional therapy can enable us to enjoy eating, speaking, breathing, and even sleeping more soundly.

Myofunctional therapy trains the soft tissues of the face, neck, and mouth to function at the height of their ability. OMT (orofacial myofunctional therapy) is also an important adjunct to numerous orofacial surgeries such as frenectomies and mandibular advancements.

Our goal is to create an awareness of muscle use and develop a therapy program of regular exercises designed specifically to your needs.

Phases of Treatment

  1. Complimentary Exam and Consultation of the Airway and Oral Structures
  2. Habit Elimination
  3. Myofunctional Therapy

Goals of Myofunctional Therapy

  • Eliminate or Minimize Oral Habits
  • Establish Nasal Breathing and Lip Seal
  • Attain Proper Tongue-Rest Position
  • Tone the Pharyngeal (swallowing) Muscles
